All About Paper Pumpkin

How did I learn about Paper Pumpkin?

My first experience with Paper Pumpkin was a post on a Pinterest board I stumbled across while looking for ideas for crafting projects. While I had used Stampin’ Up! products before, and knew many others who did as well, I had never tried a Paper Pumpkin kit. I was very intrigued by the idea of a new craft project that was delivered to my door each month, because I’m often short on time and that leaves me craving having the time to create something new. I tried a sample Paper Pumpkin kit, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Why have I been hooked on Paper Pumpkin?

There’s just something about being able to create a project each and every month and not having to do any prep work. I can sit down with my kit and in about an hour or hour and a half I can start and finish a neat project. Plus, each kit comes with a photopolymer stamp set I can reuse with the included ink, or with whatever colored ink I choose, so the possibilities and applications to projects are pretty much endless. The really neat part about Paper Pumpkin stamps is that only subscribers can get them, so it’s really neat to be able to create projects with stamps only a few people can own. As someone who creates things for events and clients I really like having exclusive designs in my collection – it makes whatever I create extra special for everyone that gets to experience it!

What did my first Paper Pumpkin kit look like?

So glad you asked! It was called Layers of Gratitude, and was the kit of the month from February 2015. Here’s what the kit looked like:

And here’s what it came with:

  • Bermuda Blue ink spot
  • Crushed Curry ink spot
  • 8 Cards and envelopes
  • Baker’s twine (for closing the envelopes)
  • 8 Thank You dimensional stickers (to make the design really pop)
  • Because it was my first kit it also came with a clear block for the stamps – no extra purchase necessary – bonus!

Here’s a close up of the stamp set:

If you’re thinking you can’t possibly create something that looks that good – that is EXACTLY what I thought too before trying Paper Pumpkin. I thought I couldn’t possibly re-create a design or make something so clean and professional looking. Then I tried it for myself and learned that if I was patient and followed the included instructions I did just fine! What a relief that was!!

I really enjoy my kit of the month and look forward to the surprise of finding out what I get to create each time I open my mailbox. If you haven’t tried Paper Pumpkin yet, you definitely should! It’s a great way to try out stamping and to have the ability to make something that looks great in a very short amount of time. You can read more about Paper Pumpkin here (and you can sign up too).

If you’ve tried Paper Pumpkin or the Layers of Gratitude kit, let me know what you think!! I’d love to see what you created.

Ciao for now!
