Pedal Pusher

People know me as the discount or coupon queen and for good reason – I LOVE a good deal and am an avid shopper. So, it comes as no surprise that I get really, really excited for deals and bonuses, like Stampin’ Up’s Sale-a-Bration events. With planning for my upcoming wedding I fell in love with the idea of romantic imagery and wanted to incorporate it into things I created for the wedding, like cards and our memory book. Flipping through the sale-a-bration brochure I landed on the Pedal Pusher stamp set and instantly loved it – a two seater bike with cute flowers and birds – what’s not to love about that?! (and how perfect for our garden themed wedding!).

Here’s a sample of what the stamp set can create:

It’s a photopolymer stamp, which is great for layering and placement on whatever you are creating. I find it really easy to line images up to create scenes using a photopolymer stamp (okay, I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I like things to look pretty – nothing wrong with that). I started out stamping without the use of the stamper’s secret weapon, but I found that the images showed up best with it. A photopolymer stamp doesn’t have the same layer of foam to allow the stamp to give, so using the stamper’s secret weapon allows the stamps to have crisp images and even ink distribution. Here’s what the stamper’s secret weapon looks like:

Since I love creating memory books, here are two of the Project Life 4×6” cards I created:

I used the Project Life Big Shot framelits dies to cut out the cards, then I stamped the scene using the Pedal Pusher stamp set. I wanted a colorful coloring book look, so I used different color inks to create the scene and left the image insides blank. I like using the basic grey ink instead of black for outlines, because it allows the outline to show up without being so stark.

Have you used the Pedal Pusher stamp set yet? What did you create? I’d love to see the ideas you came up with!

Ciao for now!
