November 2016 Wonderful Winterland Paper Pumpkin Kit Reveal

Wonderful Winterland Paper Pumpkin KitLet’s take a closer look at Wonderful Winterland

It’s finally here! My special edition paper pumpkin kit arrived and I put it together. This kit does not disappoint, that’s for sure. I love Christmas cards that have some interest, sparkle and that make you feel good. The Wonderful Winterland set accomplishes all that.

What this kit makes

This kit comes with everything you need to make 8 cards. The envelopes are dapper denim with a white label spot for the address or just to show off the recipient’s name. They are stunning when put together and so gorgeous packaged up!

The shades of pale blue on white really make the olive coloured ink that you stamp on the trees pop. This really helps to bring the card to life. I wouldn’t have thought olive coloured ink would look great with such pretty shades of blue, but it does. So many colours look good with the pale blue, especially the ones I wouldn’t have thought to put it with. Old Olive and Real Red are two examples that look great, and also work wonderfully for Christmas.

Here’s a peek at what the refill kit for the Wonderful Winterland set looks like:

Alternate Ideas for Wonderful Winterland

The Wonderful Winterland kit has so many different uses! You can make the set as it is shown in the instructions, or you can use the pieces to make something different. A few alternative ideas are shown below:

I really like the idea to use the layered pieces to make a snow globe effect, and embossing the background to make it look like a snowfall adds some extra dimension.

Other Embellishments that Work Well with Wonderful Winterland

The ribbon in the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalogue is one of my favourites. The metallic ribbon in silver and in sweet sugarplum can be used as is or distressed a bit to add classy texture. I have been playing with this ribbon since it came out and am in love! It’s disappointing that they are not keeping it beyond the holiday catalogue.

I love the peaceful pines stamp set and thinlits in the holiday catalogue. They are super versatile and if I just want to cut out a few shapes to make something look awesome, I can do that, or I can stamp and die cut to make something a little more detailed. The classic pine shapes can be used for years to come, simply because they don’t go out of style.
