I often find myself wondering why people don’t spend more time celebrating today and the moments and memories we create and share with the wonderful people in our lives. I must have been pondering on this idea when crafting new cards, because I found myself inspired by the celebrate today photopolymer stamp set from Stampin’ Up! It seemed fitting and I felt more lighthearted the more I connected the dots about the roots of my inspiration.
The photopolymer stamp set is super cute – full of balloons and accessories, check it out:
There are framelits that match this stamp set – they’re called balloon framelits dies and they look like this:
The framelits are SO handy for saving time – using my big shot to cut images out is much faster than fussy cutting balloons. I prefer to cut shapes out first, then stamp, but you can stamp first and cut after – there’s no right or wrong way to do it. If you’re stamping first, try laying the framelits out then inserting the stamp inside before adhering to the clear blocks. This ensures the stamps don’t bend, so that you have a perfect cut every single time (yay!).
With my inspiration in hand and a really cool stamp set and matching framelits dies I decided to go full on colour to make birthday cards for upcoming birthdays. I used the balloons and the cute basket stamp to make hot air balloons to soar above the clouds. To stamp the clouds I used the cloud stamps from the balloon celebration photopolymer stamp set. Check out my hot air balloon and regular jumbo balloon birthday creations:
Have you tried the celebrate today photopolymer stamp set or the balloon framelits dies? If so, what did you create? I’d love to hear all about what inspired your creations with this set!
Ciao for now!
